Hertfordshire County Council are currently consulting on changes to the current temporary changes to both roads. We would encourage everyone to comment. Please read our response and use the information to inform your comments.
The plans are for a two way cycle route on Hunters Bridge from Osbourn Way to Bessemer Road. This means the bollards would be removed on the north side and the road returned to two lanes for traffic. We have concerns about how people on cycles will be able to use this route to head west to The Campus and beyond and the layout of the junction with the existing route at Broadwater Road.
The Digswell Park Road plan is for a light controlled crossing of Bessemer Road, which is an excellent idea, and a zebra crossing of Hertford Road, which we would like to see made useable for people on cycles (a “tiger” crossing) so as to enable families to safely cycle to houses in Digswell village without having to cycle on Hertford Road.
